How to Use EMS Airflow (Quick Guide)

1. First Up: Prep & Disclosing

• Suit up (PPE): Grab your mask, gloves, and safety glasses for both you and your patient. Safety first!

• Lip balm time: Dab some lip balm on the patient’s lips so they don’t dry out or get stained.

• Highlight the plaque (Disclosing): Coat the teeth with Biofilm Discloser. Fresh plaque will turn pink, while older, stubborn plaque turns purple or blue. This gives you a clear roadmap of where you need to clean.

2. Setting Up the Machine

• Warm water: Turn on the unit and set the water temp so it’s warm and comfortable (around 40°C helps prevent sensitivity).

• Fill the powder: Load up the chamber with AIRFLOW® PLUS Powder (Erythritol-based). It’s super gentle and completely safe both above and below the gumline (supra and sub-gingival).

• Flush the lines (Purge): Hook up the water bottle and step on the foot pedal for about a minute to purge the hoses before starting.

4. Daily Maintenance (So It Doesn’t Clog)

• Mornings & between patients: Detach the handpiece for sterilization, and flush the water lines with water to clear out any lingering powder.
